Non-Profit Videos in Boston (Part 3)

One of our passions at Indresano Studios is working with Boston non-profits to help show how their organizations go above and beyond for our community.

The Importance of Non-Profit Videos

Raising awareness and getting donors is one of the challenges that non-profits often face. Something that helps are videos that show exactly what your organization is all about.

Videos are a great marketing tool to have under a non-profit’s belt! Not only can they be used as the main attraction at an event, but they can be posted on your website, sent in email campaigns, and published across social media. It is an effective method of getting your organization’s name out there and raising awareness, which goes hand in hand with getting more donors.

This blog is the 3rd and final part in our series here we highlight our studios collaborations with non-profits across the New England area. Check out part 1 and part 2 of our series to see what we’ve covered so far! Let’s recap more of the non-profit videos we have made for South Boston Community Health Center (SBCHC) and South Boston Catholic Academy (SBCA), as well as a video we made of Boston’s empty streets at the beginning of the pandemic.

About South Boston Community Health Center

We were thrilled to help South Boston Community Health Center (SBCHC) and its team of Youth Ambassadors spread the word about getting vaccinated. We were impressed by the teens’ initiative and dedication to what they believe in. We were happy to create this video at the studio so the teens could promote the vaccine to their peers.

Empty Streets – Boston Strong Video

Our team at Indresano Studios looks at every situation through a creative lens, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Our dedicated team of shooters spent multiple days in masks and personal protective equipment shooting the empty streets of Boston. We always do whatever it takes to get the shot and this video project is no exception.

We set out to document life in the city during the pandemic, which you can see in the above footage. As a Boston based production studio, our love for this city is unparalleled. We made this video to honor all those affected by the virus and everyone doing their part to save lives. We are all in this together. We are Boston Strong!

Indresano Studios has won several awards for videos made for Boston non-profits. We are incredibly grateful to be given the chance to highlight the exceptional work that these organizations do. Videos are great tools to show people the difference your non-profit makes in the community.

We are a full service video production studio that handles all aspects of a shoot. Everything from vision & conceptualization to editing & color grading is done in-house at Indresano Studios. This includes story boarding, casting, production, filming, editing, color grading to final deliverables – you name it, we do it.

Non-Profit Videos in Boston (Part 2)

Indresano Studios loves to show the work that non-profits do through a creative lens by providing high-quality videos that highlight their outstanding employees, as well as people who’s lives they change for the better.

The Importance of Non-Profit Videos

Non-profits often struggle with fundraising – that’s where we come in. Videos are so versatile and can have a long shelf-life, even after being launched at an event. They can be front and center on your website’s about page, or spliced up into clips that can be used in email blasts or throughout social media!

Creating a video is a huge step in showing people exactly what a difference their donations make to your cause. It’s not often a donor is able to get an insider look into everything your organization offers. Showing your organization’s work in a creative manner is a great way to gain familiarity.

We have a new section of our website to highlight some work we have done with non-profits based in Boston. This blog is a part 2 – check out part 1 here. Now, let’s recap some of the non-profit videos we have made for SPOKE!

About SPOKE

SPOKE (formerly Medicine Wheel Productions) is a non-profit organization founded by Michael Dowling. Their mission is to transform Greater Boston communities from the inside out by inviting all members to participate in the healing and transcendent power of public art.

They are forging a Common Path—one of inclusion and civic engagement—using art as a threshold to help individuals gain awareness of self, community, and the human condition. These next five videos show how they achieve this.

SPOKE At The Threshold Video

This video tells a story at the intersection of art, human interconnectivity, and emotional healing. The goal of the video was to showcase the transformation happening within our client’s organization and to also serve as a tribute piece of the owner’s lifelong work.

SPOKE – Hand-in-Hand Program

Hand-in-Hand, a program created by SPOKE, is an opportunity for at-risk youth and Boston Police officers to meet, bond, and develop a sense of compassion and understanding by spending a day working on art projects together. Hand-in-Hand gives them a space to see one another as human beings and peers, rather than as adversaries on the streets.

Hand-in-Hand Videos

We had the pleasure of hosting the 2019 series of Hand-in-Hand events here at Indresano Studios. In addition to hosting the event, we also produced a promotional video to help SPOKE spread their message of inclusion. Former Boston Police Commissioner William B. Evans made a special appearance in this short documentary video addressing the need to raise our own awareness and take an active role in making a difference.

No Man’s Land Video

This video is one we will forever hold dear to our hearts. Thank you to Michael Dowling of SPOKE for inspiring us to create this magnificent video.

We at Indresano Studios have a vast amount of experience in working with non-profits in the Boston area. A video is an amazing way to show people what a difference your non-profit makes in the community.

Non-Profit Videos in Boston

Here at Indresano Studios, our team is passionate about creating videos that highlight the importance of non-profits, the employees who dedicate their lives to helping the community, as well as those who benefit from the work they do. That is why we work with non-profits in the Boston area.

The Importance of Non-Profit Videos

Fundraising is hard for any non-profit. Creating a video that shows the viewer exactly what their money goes towards, why it’s important to donate, and what a difference they can make in peoples’ lives, is a crucial step.

A video is something that can be played at any event, used on the website, sent in email campaigns, or published across social media. It is an easy way in this day and age to get recognition and familiarity.

We have created a new section of our website to showcase the work we have done with non-profits based in Boston. Let’s recap some of the non-profit videos we have made with Pine Street Inn!

About Pine Street Inn

Pine Street Inn is a non-profit organization vital to our community – it is one of Boston’s largest providers of shelter and support for the homeless. We at Indresano Studios eagerly offered to help show the world what that entails. Below are three of the impactful videos we have produced for them over the years.

50th Anniversary of Pine Street Inn Videos

These two videos were shown at the Pine Street Inn 50th Anniversary celebration where it was met with enthusiasm by many of Boston’s top corporate contributors to Pine Street Inn, as well as by the Mayor at the time, Marty Walsh, who is featured in the video. We were truly humbled by this project, and by the men and women of Pine Street who work 24/7 to eradicate homelessness in Boston.

Indresano Studios returned to Pine Street Inn to bring the plight of an often overlooked and at-risk group, Boston’s homeless women, to the attention of the public, and show how Pine Street is responding valiantly to their needs. Pine Street has shelter and housing designated specifically for women, and the video is an intimate snapshot of the lives of some of these guests and what they’ve endured. Pine Street has provided them with basic essentials like food and shelter while also offering them hope and a fresh start through various programs designed to help them become self-sufficient.

Transform a Life Video

This project for Pine Street Inn was one of the most rewarding projects we have done. It shows how important it is to donate to their cause and how much it can change someone’s life.

We have won several awards for videos we have made for non-profits in the Boston area. It is incredibly rewarding to help them spread awareness and increase donations. A video is a great way to showcase everything you have to offer and what your non-profit does for the community.

We are a full service video production studio that handles all aspects of a shoot, including pre and post production. Everything from vision & conceptualization to editing & color grading is done in-house at Indresano Studios. This includes story boarding, casting, production, filming, editing, color grading to final deliverables – you name it, we do it.

Donut CGI

What better way to combine our strong background in food photography and our skills in CGI than to produce a Donut CGI video? For this CGI animation, we wanted the audience to be taken into an imaginary world we created entirely from Computer Generated Imagery, which gives a nod to classic children’s wonderlands like Candyland or Willy Wonka.

Our decision to focus on donuts we can owe in part to our sugar cravings, but it also was an environment in which we could play with inclusions and complementary foods, similar to how we capture food photography environments on set.

Under our director’s vision, our talented CGI team sketched a storyboard that went through multiple revisions. Once the storyboard was approved, the team worked on an animatic based on 2D drawings which you can see below.

The music was also very important for this project and we wanted something that expressed childlike wonder. The song we ultimately settled on was both catchy and fun for both kids and adults. We know we couldn’t stop humming it during the workday!

The next steps after the animatic involved 3D modeling, lighting, rigging and texturing. You can see some stills from the environment as it started to come together. These stills are from before final texture was added.

EXPLOSIVE VIDEOGRAPHY AND PHOTOGRAPHY

We always love an adventure, and when we were preparing for a recent photo shoot and full video production, we know we had one! We were all blown away by the final product:

To go along with the video series, the client also wanted some photography work done. The goal was dramatic and sleek looking images to promote a health care leadership program. Check out some of the images from the series below!

Next up was the video, which required a lot of components working together in synch. We had to make custom props,  hire pyrotechnicians and  find the highest caliber slo-mo camera to make the shot look just right.

We started our day with the preparation: our pyrotechnician drilled into the back of the mercury staffs  in order to make room for the explosives.

Back inside, his son (and partner), was gluing in the detonation cord, or det cord for short. It might look like harmless laces or rope, but it packs some serious power!

1T5A5013

The finished product was prepped for the shoot by being strung up in midair.

1T5A4965

In order to capture all the details of the blast, we needed a camera with a very high frame per second, like the Phantom Flex shown below.

1T5A4992

1T5A5022

Explosions are messy; we had to make sure we protected the camera behind some plexy! Cleaning between takes definitely took some time but the final product was well worth it.

1T5A5078

After the explosive shots, we needed some shots of the aftermath as well. After switching the Phantom to the dolly we were ready for action!

Before breaking down our explosive set, we couldn’t help but experiment with a few other products. Check out the video below!

VIDEO PRODUCTION ON THE ROAD IN SAN DIEGO

Recently we went to San Diego for a video production project. It was a lot of early mornings and long days, but we live by the philosophy of work hard, play hard.

Our Production Coordinator sits with some of our equipment we had to bring for the shoot. No room for clothes when back up batteries are more important!

When we finally arrived in San Diego, we had a few moments to enjoy the warm weather and beautiful scenery before heading off to work!

IMG_1932

Setting up all the cameras and lights took a while, but luckily the sunshine was cooperating with our team.

IMG_1836

We brought in some local talent to conduct the interview, including a professional interviewer as well as some local grips. You can never have enough footage to help make a video look perfect!

IMG_1831

After a hard day’s work, in the evening our crew found some time to enjoy the sunset along the waterfront.

Working for a studio, they couldn’t help but grab some beautiful shots!

The work might have been tough and the hours long, but at the end of the trip Our team were all smiles at a job well done!

MAYO BOWL 2014 WITH THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

We were honored to be invited as guests to the Mayo Bowl last night, a fundraiser held by New England Patriot Jerod Mayo to raise money for the Boston Medical Center.  It was such a great time hanging out with the players, as we laughed, ate, and of course took photos, all for a great cause!
