LIFESTYLE PHOTO SHOOT: THE INTERN’S VIEW

Welcome to day one of production for our most recent lifestyle photo shoot. As well as my first location shoot as an intern at Indresano Studios!

My second week and we were on the road for a location shoot. Kudos to Maggie Model, Ilima for handling the heat so well in late August! She was relieved when this shot was positioned in the shade.

I stayed on my toes all day to make sure that Ilima and the product were good to go. Every member of the team did great in the hot weather.

Day one of production and my first location shoot was a success! It was great to see a full team at work for this lifestyle photo shoot. As a young creative, there was a lot to take away from the day.

We knew day two of production for this on location lifestyle shoot would be that much better when we saw this would be our view for the day!

Sabrina from Model Club was a natural on set! She looked perfectly business professional thanks to the outfits chosen for the shots by TEAM wardrobe stylist, Coleen Gannon.

Coleen and TEAM hair and makeup stylist, Paula Voisembert, were an amazing pair for this lifestyle photo shoot! They were on top of everything, especially with the wind being so strong.

A loud bang caught us off guard! The U.S.S. Constitution gave everyone a surprise visit with it’s roaring canons. What a special treat on a beautiful day, and a great way to top off day two.

A successful two days of production at two different locations. Now for the post production work. Michael and everyone involved taught me so much in just these two days.

The rush of having a heavy schedule in the early weeks of my internship was exactly what I needed. It gave me no choice but to learn more about equipment needed for on location lifestyle shoots shoots.

NEW ANGLES: PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY SHOOT

Our team always enjoys a chance to capture things from a new angle, and a recent photography and videography project for Mimecast was just the opportunity!

Our client’s aim was to capture models in a moment of ‘falling’ in to a vortex, and we think these models nailed it!

The shoot certainly required a lot of core strength from our models. To help a little, we rigged a second stool as a smaller backrest. When you have to be filmed leaning back for minutes at a time, a little support can go a long way!

Our models still got a good ab workout during this shoot!

—

Thanks to our video monitor, we were able to catch wardrobe stylist Coleen and hair and make up artist Maryelle in action from a whole new vantage point!

Our photo assistant Abby couldn’t help but have some fun while testing out our set!

After wrapping on a successful and fun day of video and photography, we all wanted to see if we could have been models for the shoot. What do you think?

BOSTON POLICE COMMISSIONER: LEADING BOSTON’S FINEST

Boston’s Finest needs a strong leader, and that’s exactly what Police Commissioner William B. Evans is. Our team recently had the opportunity to photograph the Commissioner for the cover of SCENE magazine. Rather than photographing him in the studio, we wanted to showcase him out in the city he protects.

First thing was getting the set ready. We picked a location with a city skyline, and added in the police cars to set the mood.

Michael and the team worked quickly in the cold to get all the lighting and setup ready for when Commissioner Evans arrived.

SCENE Magazine’s Publisher and Creative Director Bobby DiMarzo chatted with the police offers on location to give them direction for the photoshoot.

When the Commissioner arrived, Michael and Bobby gave him a warm welcome before quickly diving into the details and getting the Commissioner groomed by our stylist Krystle Feher.

Michael went over the image inspiration with the Boston Police Commissioner before beginning the photoshoot to make sure that the mood was just right.

All that was left to do was to shoot! The team had to work quick to get the perfect image with the time that Commissioner Bill Evans had available in his busy schedule!

TAKING THE NEXT STEP WITH NxSTAGE

Our recent project with NxStage for a home dialysis machine was a rewarding experience! We had a great opportunity to be part of a creative process that will benefit those that require kidney care. On casting day, over 60 people came in to audition for a few different roles. We hit the ground running on the shoot day by creating a set that really told the story and communicated the product message. The images represent the freedom of using home dialysis. Check out the tear sheets from the shoot below!

SPRING IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER

Michael surveys a sea of plants

It’s the middle of Winter and if Nature had its way, nothing would bloom. Well today we are seeing something that we usually don’t see this time of year – flowers and plants in full bloom. Michael took the team to Cavicchio Greenhouses in Sudbury to conjure up some Springtime magic, even if it’s below freezing outdoors. That’s no problem, as the temperature in these high-tech greenhouses is a comfortable 75 degrees all year round. Surrounded by glimpses of the Spring to come, seeds of a beautiful shoot are sown with the terrific team from BJs .

BRIT GETS STUCK ON BOSTON

Recently we were contacted for a photo shoot with the fabulous Brit Morin of Brit +Co and her new partner Velcro Industries. With Brit flying in from San Francisco and the shoot scheduled just days away, we swiftly moved into production with a great crew to create an entire set made of VELCRO® Brand. The shoot went flawlessly and the client was thrilled with the results, as was Brit. Look for her on the Velcro Industries site throughout the year, especially during the 2013 Holidays!

We were really blown away with how our client, Timberland, used our photography from a recent shoot in the design of their rustic, moody catalog. (Special thanks to Mari Quirk who provided some amazing surfaces for this shoot.)

Only three weeks into the new year and things are already “snowballing” here at the studio, so we wanted to share a the 3rd in a series of Cumberland Farms winter ads. We had a lot of fun creating this shot on set, and hope the behind-the-scenes are as entertaining for you as the day was for us.
