SO REFRESHING: OUR SUMMER PROMO CAMPAIGN

Like any good business knows, you need to keep things fresh — or run the risk of losing your audience’s attention.   Well, we like to keep our clients (and all you potential clients out there!) in the know about what we’ve been up to here at the studio via our blog, and you told us you were still thirsty for more.

So this summer we decided to lighten things up a bit, starting with what we had in our cups.  We centered our summer promo campaign around refreshing drinks that would quench your thirst for more beautiful photography.  Michael kicked off the campaign by producing a slew of thirst-quenching drink photographs, then we thought, “What good is a drink without a proper receptacle?”  So, to keep our clients well-hydrated, we ordered customized drink tumblers and then even more ideas started flowing.  So grab your tumbler, and take a few minutes to check out our photos below to see how the rest of the campaign played out… bottom’s up!

Our bold, refreshing drinks made their debut in an email blast (below):

After our email stirred up a buzz in the creative community, we decided to take the images offline and created a print mailer showcasing some of our favorites.  Creative with a Twist: that’s us!

We wanted a little something special to tie the campaign together, so we thought drink tumblers would be the perfect fit for all of our thirsty clients.  Just as the mailers were being sent out, Michael was hard at work creating even more refreshing imagery to line the inside of the tumblers.  We think the finished products turned out beautifully.

Which is your beverage of choice: cucumber-watermelon spritzer, strawberry lemonade, iced coffee, or peach-thyme iced tea?

Each of four different liners were individually inserted into the drink tumblers by hand.  Tedious work, but someone’s gotta do it!

Below, enjoy some behind-the-scenes photos from our “Refreshing” summer campaign.  We had lots of fun shooting these drinks and bringing the campaign to life.

Anthony delicately wraps each tumbler in tissue paper, getting them all ready to ship.

Tumblers galore!

Tumblers all boxed up and ready to go.

Risk-taker Anthony takes matters into his own hands; while Lauren and Jen ship off the tumblers at the Post Office.

A NEW LOOK

Just as the first signs of spring are starting to show here in Boston, a fresh new look is beginning to bloom here at the studio.  Over the past few months we’ve been putting our heads together to design brand new portfolio books and redesign our website, showcasing Michael’s latest and greatest work.  While it may seem like an easy task to simply “update” our look, lots of behind-the-scenes efforts, extended hours, and hard decisions actually go into producing a brand new book, website, and promotional mailers.  Take a sneak peek into our studio to see what we’ve been doing to pull all of this together.  It’s been a real team effort!

Jen (assistant/digital tech) and Lauren (marketing guru) have a friendly debate over the layout of the new portfolio.

After hours of cutting, taping, flip-flopping, debating and rethinking, the final order is agreed upon.

Jen fine-tunes the color — a very tedious, time-consuming process which results in the highest quality prints.

Portfolio designers from all over the country sent us samples of countless color and texture options — it was hard for us to choose the perfect combination.  We also sent out promotional mailers with custom stamps.  For everyone out there who received one, we hope you enjoy.

We’ll be back in the next few weeks to show you the final portfolio design – stay tuned!
