With the start of 2018, we looked back on a year full of challenging photography and videography projects, exciting clients, and big changes at the studio! Check out some of the highlights of the last year below:

The year started off with a photoshoot – Baby Michael’s first time on set! During our annual Indresano’s Angels shoot, we were fortunate to have our own ‘Charlie’ for the day, although we think ours was a little cuter. ūüôā

Then it was time for some deja vu:¬†we were back in San Diego to conduct a video interview of new international executives for a corporate video series. Our crew did a quick turnaround and was only on the ground for 36 hours, but that didn’t stop them from seeing the sights and getting in a little local fun!

With the crew back to the cold New England, we had a client who was keeping it hot in the studio with a model photoshoot! Hair product company Toni & Guy came to the studio for a glamorous beauty shoot. In addition to the final shots of fun new hairstyles, we also captured some tutorial photographs of how to get the same look.

It wouldn’t be a year in review if we didn’t mention the amazing Superbowl LI win for the Patriots! We were excited to photograph two New England Patriot all-stars in the studio this year- running back James White and tight end Rob Gronkowski. Check out some images and behind the scenes videos below!

This year also included some fun videography projects, including one for a new DuoClean vacuum. We worked to capture the high end, sleek side of a product that people often overlook as simply utilitarian.

Some of our video productions also took the team on location, such as the 2-day video shoot we did in a gym to showcase Nike. We worked with a highly athletic model to help capture a gritty and intense final video.

We also had a new exciting addition to our photography team this year- our Hasselblad H6D 100C! It gives us files twice the size of other leading cameras, a much faster shutter speed, and 4K video capabilities.

The team was very honored to win a Black and White Spider Award for our photography and a Hatch Award from the Ad Club for our videography. Below is the Hasselblad image that won for the Black and White Spider Award.

And below is the video we made with MIT Tangible Media which won a Hatch Award in 2017.

We also had several opportunities to drive some high-end cars into the studio. First up was a Range Rover in order to capture a sleek and detail oriented video showcasing the car. Next up was a Volvo XC90 Excellence Edition. We used the luxury car to showcase a new software design which creates a proactive suspension that eliminates motion in the car. The images from that shoot are coming in a blog soon, so keep an eye out!

A big project we undertook this year was converting our storage room into a highly organized prop closet. We went through all the props we collected over the years and logged them in a digital portfolio. We also created a numbering system so that we will be able to find any prop needed instantly. The result is a food photographer’s dream come true!

This past year, the team had a chance to capture some shoe photography as well as make some videos. For instance, this fall we collaborated with Timberland on an exciting project, where we used photo smoke and our Sony F5 to create a social media campaign for their Limited Release boot.

We also worked with New Balance to create a dynamic photography campaign in magazines and other printed publications.

It wouldn’t be an annual review of all our work if we didn’t mention some of our food photography! We teamed up with Improper Bostonian and the talented food stylist John Carafoli to capture the cover photo for their pasta issue. Check out the final result below!

With a¬†year as full as this one, we can’t wait for all the new projects and changes that 2018 will bring. Make sure to stay tuned to our blog to get sneak peeks and behind the scenes access in the new year!

We had a blast handling all aspects of pre-production, shooting, editing, and producing the final video showcasing the magnificent Seapoint Estate!

A special thank you to Robert Kinlin for his kind words and a big congratulations on the successful sale of the magnificent Seapoint Estate! We are so grateful to have gotten to handle the video production for this project.

“Michael Indresano’s reputation for quality, perfection, and excellence made him the ideal person for this job. Only someone of his caliber could capture the fine craftsmanship, high quality, and sheer beauty of the Seapoint Estate. The video the Indresano team produced played an important role in displaying the magnificent¬† Estate. It was a pleasure working with Michael and his¬†team.” ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†-Robert Kinlin, Owner and Founder of Robert Paul Properties

Not only did we handle the shooting – including using drones for overhead shots – but we also took care of wardrobe, hair, makeup, casting, audio, lighting, and so much more. You name it, we did it! Here is a glimpse behind the scenes of this video production.

Our drone helped capture a breathtaking view of Sherry Spinale from Maggie Inc. running through the estate’s gorgeous green yard.

Of course we had to snap a quick picture of the amazing views. The sunsets at Seapoint Estate are unparalleled! It is the ideal location for a video production team.

We are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to produce a video of this incredible property. Check it out below!

The cold and snow were too slow to leave Boston, and Indresano team was impatient for warmer weather! So they packed up their gear and went down to sunny San Diego for a video shoot.

Once the crew scouted out the best location, they got right down to business getting all the gear set and ready!

Our Production Coordinator Shannon filled in as the interviewee in order to adjust lighting and sound just right for the videos. But that didn’t stop her from working!

Notice anything about the window frames? Here’s a hint- it involved a lot of taping! We covered the black frames in white in order to create the perfect background for the shot

With everything all ready to go, our professional interviewer got everything underway.

It takes a great crew to film a strong interview!

After two days of prep and filming, our team had just enough time left in San Diego to visit the seals in La Jolla.

¬†Jayna and Shannon even managed to snag a ‘seal’fie with one of them!

High end video equipment and a focused group of creative people is what Michael Indresano Photography brought to this multi-day shoot. We worked with corporate executives on a series of interviews. Multiple cameras means multiple perspectives but we never lost sight of the project goal Рto make an awesome video.

The famed Sony F55, Sony F5 and their little cousin the Sony FS7 all in attendance at the shoot!

Managing the complexity of a video set means getting everything spot on.

We also have to get the lighting just right. With a combination of natural light from the full windows in the hallways and some small but powerful LED panels, we were able to achieve it!

Walking by outside, someone would certainly be curious about what was happening!

Smile for the camera! Using a dolly is always a great way to get some nice, dynamic shots!

After everything was set up, we had our team member sit in the interviewee chair so we could make our final tweaks and make sure everything was perfect.

Here is a glimpse into the real behind the scenes of a shoot. All the equipment and manpower involved into making a video is quite remarkable. Next time you see a commercial or video, think about all the work and people that come together to create the thing you are watching.

August usually means the end of summer is approaching, so we wanted to make sure we got in some last days of ice cream tastiness¬†at the Boston food photography studio! Things may have gotten a little messy, but isn’t that part of the fun with ice cream? Enjoy a little taste:

It wasn’t just the summer¬†heat keeping the studio hot! Giorgos¬†flew from New York to be our model at the studio for a big apparel company¬†video shoot. We had a lot of fun filming him¬†in various different pairs of pants for their spring line. Keep an eye out for the trendy jeans and chino pants coming to stores near you! Here’s a sneak peek and¬†behind-the-scenes look at the work that went into creating the video production and final images!

Cleaning and prepping the video set before the big day!

The Indresano team pauses to review the footage with the clients and make sure the videos are fitting their vision!

No small detail goes unnoticed on the product!

Lights, camera, action!

The production girls were Giorgos’ biggest fans!

After having Giorgo walk around shirtless most of the day, of course we had to share a picture with all of you!

The average speed of a hockey puck flying across the ice in a NHL game is between 80-110 mph. What does it take to stop a projectile traveling at such a velocity? The answer is MORE speed. We found out just how that lighting reflex works when famed goalie Tuukka Rask from the Boston Bruins came to the studio for a video and photo shoot.

We had to get in close while filming the eyes that see what most people can’t.

Michael preps a photograph of Tuukka adjusting his Franklin gloves.

You have to be prepared before approaching a goal guarded by this stare!

Nothing like a little smoke to add to the mood!

After the shoot, Tuukka got down low for some knee hockey with a few of his younger fans.

He wrapped up the day with autographs for the kids who attended the shoot!

Check out the final video here:

Recently we went to San Diego for a video production project. It was a lot of early mornings and long days, but we live by the philosophy of work hard, play hard.

Our Production Coordinator sits with some of our equipment we had to bring for the shoot. No room for clothes when back up batteries are more important!

When we finally arrived in San Diego, we had a few moments to enjoy the warm weather and beautiful scenery before heading off to work!

Setting up all the cameras and lights took a while, but luckily the sunshine was cooperating with our team.

We brought in some local talent to conduct the interview, including a professional interviewer as well as some local grips. You can never have enough footage to help make a video look perfect!

After a hard day’s work, in the evening our crew found some time to enjoy the sunset along the waterfront.

Working for a studio, they couldn’t help but grab some beautiful shots!

The work might have been tough and the hours long, but at the end of the trip Our team were all smiles at a job well done!

Things were quite exciting at the studio last week when the Governor¬†Charlie Baker stopped by! Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito also made an appearance so Michael could photograph the¬†two for the¬†Spring cover¬†of Scene Magazine. The Indresano team was honored to have both high-profile public officials take some time out of their busy schedules to visit the studio. State Troopers came to the studio the day prior to conduct¬†a site survey and they also assessed the area¬†twice during the day of the shoot to ensure everything was safe and ready for the Governor’s arrival! Check out some pictures from the shoot below as well as an exclusive behind the scenes video!

It’s amazing what can be accomplished when we all work together! Naturally, we felt so proud and inspired after completing this project for Medicine Wheel Productions. Just last year the Edward Ingersoll Browne Fund awarded Medicine Wheel with a grant to install an accessible, paved path connecting the Boston National Historical Park. We couldn’t be happier to help Medicine Wheel promote their goal of having 600 engraved bricks donated to¬†line the path.¬†We tried our best to capture the essence of the project and help spread awareness to have¬†bricks donated. Check out our finished video below and see what a great time we had!

Here is the final video we produced!
