BOSTON VIDEO & PHOTO PET CASTING

Do you ever look at your pet and wish they could help you pay rent?

Indresano Studios hosted a Pet Casting Call Day earlier this month to find the paw-fect pets for a commercial job. We had the pleasure of meeting several dogs and cats that were ready to put in the work and become stars!

Here are just a few of our four-legged friends:

Coconut

Coconut is fun and energetic! He was very excited to be visiting the studio and getting his beauty shots in.

Elle

Elle was nervous for her first time in the studio. However, a couple of treats would make anyone feel better!

Morrigan

Morrigan was our youngest dog in the studio! Her energy was infectious, and she got everyone in the studio excited for the day ahead.

Timber

Timber had no problem following instructions during our shoot. He went above and beyond and deserves a round of a-paws.

Arlo

Arlo came in camera ready on casting day. He was an expert when it came to posing in front of the camera. He made sure we got all his good angles!

Kona

Kona was so happy being in the studio and felt right at home! We can’t help but smile when we see his floppy ears and shining personality.

Scrappy

Scrappy’s name fits him perfectly! Though he may be small in stature, he makes up for it with an adorable face and powerful pose.

Luca

Luca loved having the spotlight! He thought the food was delicious…even though he did have a hard time keeping it in the bowl.

These pets brought their A-game to our casting day! Our in-house team worked tirelessly to make sure these pets had a fantastic time modeling on set. We were so excited to meet each one of them!

This marks another successful casting call for Indresano Studios!

BOSTON NONPROFIT SPOKE VIDEO

Indresano Studios loved working with the people of SPOKE. Located in the Greater Boston area, “MW Productions/SPOKE activates the transformative power of art to heal divisions, strengthen community, and drive social progress.” SPOKE uses various forms of art as a way for young people to better understand themselves as well as increase their understanding of the world around them.

SPOKE founder and director Michael Dowling takes us through the organization’s legacy with the help of the board of directors and those who make SPOKE possible.

Learn more about Michael and SPOKE’s mission by watching our video below.

Previously known as Medicine Wheel, SPOKE was created to transform the lives of Boston’s youth. Their new building on Old Colony will give the people of Boston a safe space to create and heal together through all forms of art including visual media, dance, and poetry performances. SPOKE encourages youth to use art as a means of expression and to help strengthen ties within their community.

Our in-house team worked hard to create a thought-provoking video that highlighted the non-profit. We were there every step of the way through creating storyboards, conducting interviews, shooting, editing, color correction and sound design.

Meet the people who help keep SPOKE running.

How to Stand Up to a Bully: Natalia’s World

Our in-house animation team for our series Natalia’s World has been hard at work this month! From writing scripts, to creating storyboards, to recording voiceovers at our studio — we’ve put our heart and soul into making this fun and educational animated series for children.

Our cartoon series follows spunky 9-year-old Natalia, who navigates life, school, friends and family! She has the help of her magical moral compass to guide her through hard decisions, as she tries to do the right thing. Our series is based on our director and executive producer’s children, Natalia and Michael, in real life!

We had the most fun recording voiceovers in the studio! Natalia (9 yrs) and Michael (5 yrs) were true professionals, adding flare, personality and excitement to their delivery of lines! Not to mention, they’re adorable!

We released our most recent episode “How to Stand up to a Bully,” where Natalia must figure out how to deal with a bully at school. It was exciting seeing all of our revisions, edits, and animations come together for the final result.

A huge thank you to Ultimate Self Defense in South Boston, for participating in the video and encouraging morals of strength and courage amongst young people! We were excited to have the owner, Andrea ‘Sensei,’ record voiceover for the role of the Judo Instructor in this episode!

If you haven’t already, subscribe and tune in to our YouTube channel below! Find out which life lesson Natalia will navigate next!

FROM TOUCHDOWNS TO STRIKES: THE MAYO BOWL

The New England Patriots might be superstars on the field this year, but the work they do off the field is truly inspirational. In particular, Jerod Mayo’s charity bowling event for the Boston Medical Center showcases the great support the players have for each other and the community.

So you can understand why were so excited to be the videographers for the event. We were ready and set up well before the red carpet started, which started a long wait for the excitement to begin!

mayobowl_0051

The carpet was quickly a buzz when Jerod Mayo and his family showed up. We were fortunate enough to get the exclusive spot right by the door and got the chance to talk to many players including Malcolm Butler, Nate Solder, Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman!

Kim Zyotti, the owner of Blue Sky Entertainment and the person who helped to make the whole event happen also took the time to talk to us about the charity and all the good it’s done for the community. Over the last 6 years, the annual event has helped to raise over one million dollars for the Boston Medical Center!screen-shot-2015-10-01-at-12-39-20-pm1

There was even a back door entrance from Tom Brady! While he managed to sneak by our red carpet interviews, our own Michael Indresano got the chance to say a quick hello.

Then it was time for the main event: bowling! Mayo, his family, and other Patriots players bowled alongside teams of fans.

Although he was focused on bowling strikes, Edelman also managed to spare a moment to talk with our production team!

There was also a pool tournament in a second room, where a select few got the chance to shoot pool with players, including Nate Solder or Sebastian Vollmer.

Last up was the auction, which brought “the Chandlers” together to help get the crowd excited and bidding high!

By the end of the night we were exhausted, but some of our team worked through the night to edit together the video showcasing the amazing night. Check the video out below and check our blog out for other exciting behind the scenes access!

CHILLIN’ WITH CARBONITE

If your first thought is Star Wars when you hear the word Carbonite, you are not alone. What this company offers, however, isn’t in the stars, but rather in the cloud. Founded in 2005, Carbonite is a high tech company that provides cloud backup and storage services to clients across the globe. In recent years, they have since expanded to become one of the leading online data backup providers in the world. But that has not made them take themselves too seriously. From a life size Yoda statue to silhouettes of Darth Vadar, this 50,000 square foot office screams fun!

Michael and the team photographed over a dozen top execs from Carbonite. Shooting was a breeze as we set up using our latest ultra high pixel-count camera addition to the family (more about that at a later point). Michael has also invested into using the latest technology in lighting and you can see in some of the shots below the lights are all LED – no more hot lights and sweaty sets! This was a COOL shoot in more ways than one.

TAKING THE NEXT STEP WITH NxSTAGE

Our recent project with NxStage for a home dialysis machine was a rewarding experience! We had a great opportunity to be part of a creative process that will benefit those that require kidney care. On casting day, over 60 people came in to audition for a few different roles. We hit the ground running on the shoot day by creating a set that really told the story and communicated the product message. The images represent the freedom of using home dialysis. Check out the tear sheets from the shoot below!

MEDICINE WHEEL PRODUCTIONS – HAND IN HAND

Hand in Hand is an ambitious project of building rapport and extending the circle of friendship to include two often misunderstood groups of people – police officers and young adults. This project is the brainchild of Quincy native and visionary artist Michael Dowling. For over 22 years, he has spearheaded the well respected non-profit organization called Medicine Wheel Productions as its founder and artistic director. Mr. Dowling’s commitment to the positive transformation of troubled youths through art and community building has won him extensive recognition.

Michael Indresano, a board member of Medicine Wheel, did not hesitate to create a powerful video documentary that celebrates commonality and inclusion, further addressing hot-button social/racial issues that dominate our national conversation today.

Filming the the video took place for a few months and required countless hours of post production. Michael and his team were instrumental in organizing all the interviews, documenting the workshops through video, photographing the portraits, editing the footage together, and acted as technical consultant to all matters relating to video and photo. The video creation process started with a dedicated team of professionals bringing together their diverse skill set and industry know-how into conceptualizing a story. Many hours of brainstorming took place at our 33 A Street studio in South Boston. Michael Indresano led the team as director overseeing the entire creative process. With over 22 years of award-winning photography expertise, he is no stranger to the world of visual story telling. A true seasoned professional and master of detail, Michael directed the camera crew and lighting technicians with precise angles and adjustments; infusing every shot with a consistent degree of thought, emotion, and impact, further driving the message with vigor and determined vision.

The final video release was launched at the Medicine Wheel Turning The Wheel Annual Fundraiser at the Nixon Peabody law firm to exuberant applause. Attendees of the event included Boston Police Commissioner William B. Evans, Boston City Councilor at large Ayanna Pressley, Community Affairs Liaison for the Boston Redevelopment Authority Mark McGonagle (MW Chair of the Board of Directors), Boston Police Deputy Superintendent Nora L. Baston, Vice President at Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Karen Young, Community Involvement Director for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Janelle Woods-McNish, Executive Director of South Asian Arts Council Amit Dixit, State Auditor Suzanne M. Bump, along with many more prominent high profile public officials and loyal Medicine Wheel supporters voicing their support for this project.
